Fluorophores encapsulated within NanoJackets have demonstrated increased quantum yields, reduced degradation, and decreased photobleaching when compared with free fluorescent molecules.These enhanced properties, coupled with the ability to conjugate peptides and other ligands to the NanoJacket surface, have enabled the development of NanoJacket-encapsulated research tools. Already, we have successfully encapsulated fluorescein, rhodamine B, rhodamine WT, Cy3, and Indocyanine Green. Potential applications include western blots, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and microarray analyses.
