We have achieved enhanced diagnostic imaging by using NanoJackets to encapsulate Indocyanine Green, an FDA-approved near-infrared fluorophore. Encapsulation increases fluorescence intensity, reduces degredation, and decreases photobleaching, yielding a striking live, whole-animal imaging modality. Near-infrared imaging allows visualization of deep tissues without the need for toxic radioactive x-rays or imaging agents. Data demonstrating diagnostic imaging with NanoJackets can be found in peer-reviewed publications.
